This is the type of book that makes it all worthwhile! Yes, it’s a bit simplistic but given the audience that it’s written for that is a requirement. The only thing that I can find fault with the book is that the ending is just a little too neat, but that may be my problem. The characters are believable and the storyline is good and believable. I would definitely recommend this book to adults and young readers alike. It runs the gamut of emotions and nothing is entirely easy. The family interacts in a in a realistic and understandable way and overcomes problems to a satisfying conclusion. It is well written and definitely worth the time to delve into.
I need to call out the narrator, Lou Banks, for the incredible job she did, the voices she gave the characters are spot on. The interpretation and emotion are excellent I think she has outdone herself with this book. It is definitely well worth the listen for both adults and young readers. I cannot recommend it highly enough!! Definitely worth a listen!
