I find it marvelous that Kim Stanley Robinson manages to weave together so many disparate ways of thinking about our climate crisis. This novel takes you from vivid descriptions of nature, to philosophical dialogue, to riddles, to intimate conversations, thereby creating a beautiful kaleidoscope that somehow makes a lot of sense.
I read the print version and I have to say that the voice actors here are a real plus. The accents, for example, add so much depth. And the two voices for the philosophical dialogues I would have never imagined being as humorous as they are here. These decisions must have been made by KSR, so listening to the audiobook is like being gifted with a secret extra layer of meaning.
