This is a novel idea, having a monster that looks like a chest be the main character. But at least for me it wasn’t enough to hold my interest. The MC isn’t that interesting to me, and certainly isn’t relatable. And the sidekick doesn’t really pull me in either.
I can totally see how this story might be enticing to listeners in their teens (if their parents aren’t around) but otherwise it falls a bit too far into the juvenile arena for my taste.
It’s reasonably well written so if this is your type of mental chewing gum, then go for it. Just don’t expect Shirtaloon levels of story or dialogue.
