I read the reviews of this book and fully expected a full-blown tear-jerker. Maybe I’ve read too many tear-jerkers and my soul is immune to emotion, but I was not emotional by the least reading this book. Nonetheless, the story line kept me interested as Tiger journeyed through the aftermath of losing her mother, getting thrown into the foster care system, and finding her feet again through grief. A good read, but not a great one.
