- Would you listen to Outpost Hell again? Why?
- I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher. Yes, I would listen to this again. It’s an interesting take on sci-fi and I liked the action of the story but I also liked the intrigue of it. There were some new and fun things that happen to the marines in the story and I felt bad for most of them. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next and how they were going to get out of the mess they found themselves in.
- What other book might you compare Outpost Hell to and why?
- I’m not sure if I know another book to compare it to. It’s a little like Alien (which isn’t a book, I know) but it’s not quite like that either. It’s got bored marines acting like pirates, a wrecked ship, people that aren’t what they seem, aliens that aren’t what they seem an everyone trying to get off planet and survive.
- Which scene was your favorite?
- There were a couple of different ones. I liked the AI computer and it trying to survive enough to help the marines under its care, when the “aliens” tried to communicate with the marine they kidnapped and the marine trying to understand what they were telling him. The action was good too and I liked the twists and turns of the story.
- Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
- I would’ve preferred to hear this in one sitting, it could get a little confusing to remember what had been happening the last time I listened. But if you at least listened every day, that helped keep most of the plot fresh in your head.
- Any additional comments?
- I really liked this story and I was glad I listened to it. It isn’t something I’d normally try but I’m glad I gave it a shot.
