A story where the main character is an NPC is what you’ll find here. While unconventional of an idea, the shift in perspective is actually quite nice here.

Maddie the protagonist is quite believable and relatable with her pain, health issues, daily struggles and relationship concerns that she deals with as we often do.

The story unravels slow but steadily as the pieces are laid down on the board and glimpses of this world are revealed. It’s important that Maddie make a run/delivery through a highly hostile and dangerous environment which leads to the story expanding significantly from how she originally expected it to be.Think of a world somewhat similar to an old Western with the existence of some fantasy-based creatures.

For anyone looking for some light stat crunch mixed in with a new perspective MC in an old west fantasy styled story that you can bite into a few hours at a time this is a good series to get into.

The narration is done well and would definitely recommend this. I would love to see the stories expanded into 7+ hour long books but that could be what I’m simply used to since I generally pick up books that are between 12 and 30 hours in length per release but remember that this is a personal preference. This series has eight books already released each around 3 hours long except books 4 and 8 making it a solid pick for anyone looking to finish the books in one sitting which I did in two sittings 🙂
