I had read Dreamland, and thought I knew enough about the opiate issue until a friend recommended this book. I could not put it down. The addicts in the story are real human beings just like me and you. And the author’s exposure of the relationship between the “new” meth addiction and homelessness, as well as the complicity of Mexico and China, and other countries, is mind-boggling to me. Why isn’t this well documented knowledge part of our plan to help those with homelessness and addiction?
