This is the second storyline I have listened to in this collection. I really enjoyed the Galaxy Outlaws missions and was excited to see what was in store for Esper after those missions. I really enjoyed most of the story and the additional building of Kubu. I just wish that Espers moral compass was not constantly in check and that she would grow a pair sooner rather than later. I feel like there was a lot more potential here to display the absolute power and dominance that is wizardry in this universe. I wanted a tale of a wizard gone savior who absolutely crushed the evil out of the galaxy, that is really not what this is. It’s more of a reality check early on for Esper and then a constant internal (then external) moral war. There were some good missions here don’t get me wrong. I think Wesley Wesley was a great comical addition and kept me listening. I did not mention it in my previous review but the narrator does a excellent job in all of these so far and really captures each character uniquely and well. It was a great listen for the price, but mostly listened to this at 1.5 times speed as I was just ready for it to move forward to the good parts.
