This book is a hilarious delight, and I highly recommend experiencing it in audio. The snarky banter between Jesse and Zeb is so biting and on-point, I can’t remember the last time I happily snickered so much reading/listening to a book.
The chemistry between surly bossman Zeb (44) and his spirited employee Jesse (24) crackles from the moment they meet, and takes a deeper turn when Jesse agrees to pose as Zeb’s boyfriend during his ex’s destination wedding events. Their getting to really know each other beyond an unspoken mutual attraction adds depth to the story and characters, and it’s all quite thoughtful, sweet, steamy, and downright fun.
Narrator Joel Leslie captured the personalities of the characters perfectly, including offering a variety of distinct voices and British accents, and delivered an engaging performance that no doubt enhanced my enjoyment of this already terrific story.
