I love how the author is capable of weaving a story about child abuse and crime into a love story that rings true. The narrator did justice to all aspect of the story.
The story was an emotional rollercoaster that brought tears to my eyes. And the slow burn, oh yes there’s a very long slow burn that is hotter than most. Very well executed. True craftsmanship of author and narrator!
HIGHLY recommended if you don’t want a quick wam bam story but a story of a slow growing relationship of people with a lot of emotional bagage.
If you can’t handle a lot of emotional pain or are triggered by abuse (emotional or physical), don’t read.
