William D. Arand is an excellent writer and storyteller and Jeff Hays continues to put on a superb performance in narrating. I purchased, listened and, for the most part, enjoyed the trilogy. Also, the novel would better fit into the litRPG genre than Sci-Fi since the science references were most superficial computer software and server oriented.
It is not without faults, however.
I would say that the target audience seemed to be aimed at adolescent boys since the protagonist was an unlucky guy with women in his real life but ends up in virtual realm single-handedly rescuing young beautiful women on many occasions and who come to all fall in ‘love’ with him afterward, thus, the harem.
Not wishing to give away any significant spoilers, I will only state that the novel has a couple of open story arcs that makes for a bit of a disappointing ending; especially since in one instance it had played a central area of focus from the beginning.
This review is meant to encompass all three books.
