Having read all 8 books available for The Borrowed World series, I was thrilled to discover that The Locker Nine takes place in the aftermath of the same event and is located in the same geographic region. It’s refreshing to follow new characters yet thrilling to engage in the same fictional world. I was pulled into the events of The Locker Nine and could visualize myself in the situations. On the same journey of survival. Trying to get home. The realness of these stories is what I like best about them. As if this is something that could actually happen. Challenging my own preparedness. I liked Grace’s character and look forward to following her journey in the following book. Once I catch up, I’ll jump over to The Mad Mick series, which is also part of the same fictional world. I’m glad the author created so many spin-offs, but do hope he goes back to The Borrowed World with a 9th book.

Kevin Pierce also narrated The Borrowed World, so I’m really glad he continued with Locker Nine. While the main protagonist is a college-aged woman, he does a great job representing her character.
