Froomkin voices Jordan so well, you can hear every ounce of the character’s insecurities – about everything. Add to that his crazy mother, two over-the-top girls, and the way he voices Max (when not voiced by Perez) and you feel like you are right there with them. Perez’s quiet and reserved “Max” and Max’s mom, are voiced softly and warmly while you can feel his buddies’ coarseness in their juvenile tone. My one negative is that in several of Froomkin’s chapters, the microphone is over-driven, resulting not only in a significant difference in volume between the two narrators, but distortion of the signal as well. Otherwise, solid performances, good writing, and a good story dealing with issues not often approached.
