If your on the fence read this if your already know you want to read this then get to it.

I hope that anyone who is interested in this genre reads this book for their sake. It’s hard to pick out one thing that this book does amazing like Kel Kade’s characters or change the game like “The Land” but it never falls flat on any aspect.

The world building and story this book tells are great, the setting he builds are varied and fantastically and a great example is the pirate ship, read the book and you’ll know. The pace never felt rushed or slow always moving forward but still giving details to tell how and why. Setting up your understanding of the world and people making the moment interesting and at the same time giving us knowledge to use it the future. The characters are 2 dimensional and grow. Ned for example is 2D he has goals and tries is hardest to accomplish them so much so that he is willing to hurt people to do it or look the other way if it doesn’t stop him even if he has to rationalize it. Ned’s starting area is a great example of this because he has a limit to how much he’ll look the other way for his goals but what’s the limit we don’t know because we don’t truly know Ned yet and what he does help us to understand him. As for growing frank is the good example for that you’ll just need to read the book.

The narration is great and that’s all it needs. It might sound like I’m not giving this book high praise use only words like good and great but everything is good and that makes the book perfect it’s pure enjoyment. Their almost always some part of a book that is the weak link the worst is when it’s the narrator something the author has no control over but this book has no weak link and that instantly puts it in top 20% and the author take that to the top 5%

The only reason I can think to not get the book is because it’s not the best and that’s like not watching “Die Hard” because it’s not “Star Wars”, and if you watch at lest 2 movies you can’t just watch the best.
