Of the Demon Blessed series, this one can be listened to as a standalone where the first three books of the series are not good as standalone novels. The author did a great job of pulling me into Thea and Kalev’s story. Thea’s past is tragic in its nature and leaves her thinking she is hallucinating and crazy. It is fascinating to see how the author ties all of the events in Thea’s past to Kavel and the whole Demon Blessed universe. I love the magnetism and passion between Thea and Kalev and I feel as though the author did a great job developing them as characters.

Sarah Puckett is easily one of my favorite narrators. I haven’t come across anything she has narrated that I haven’t loved. She is the kind of narrator that I would buy a book by an unknown author because I know if she is narrating it, then it has to be good. Just as with the first three books of the Demon Blessed series, Sarah does not disappoint. She provides another fabulous performance in this book and really brings out the passion between Kalev and Thea.
