This is a long listen and I was skeptical at first. The narrative style is of intertwined stories from the various characters’ viewpoints and this of course adds to length. The story is wide ranging from England to New York and then to Chicago and with a nefarious plot just as grand. Good action, tense confrontations, and enough developments to keep the story moving and interesting. The ordinance was good but again, I have to admit to an early negative bias – the narrative seemed too soft and measured. However, as the story proceeds, that easy narration provided a nice counterpoint to the relative noise caused by the other characters.
This is a good listen.
