This is what LITrpg should be! Yes LITrpg is stats, but often the writers get lost in them. Who cares about the character sheet of a monster that will be one-shotted? When I play games, I’m most focused on the red line of the creature ahead of me. If his line falls faster than mine, then we are doing good! Wilmarth did an excellent job of world-building. His characters have different personalities and perspectives. I laughed out loud as he poked fun at several other LITrpg writers. You can find the Easter eggs yourself. This isn’t just hack slash bang boom, the main characters get bitter pills to swallow, but they tend to work with the hands they’re dealt. Even my wife, who hates LITrpg, laughed several times as I played this aloud.
