This was book 1 in the “Haven Hart Universe” series. This was a pretty good read that I also listened to on audio. Christopher Manos is the heir, and don, of House Manos, a leading crime family in town. Christopher Manos is also the guardian of his deceased sister’s son, Simon, and while out with his bodyguard driver Simon decides he’s going to leave the SUV and go out for a walk while his bodyguard gets him ice cream he ends up in the wrong hands. Snow has been living in the streets since running away from home and his no father who has been using him for less than honest pursuits when he comes upon Simon as he’s being cornered by some guys who are up to no good. He manages to get Simon out of there promising to come back and stand in Simon’s stead with the leader of the gang that is trying to take advantage of Simon. The young boy he rescues happens to be the nephew of one of the most powerful crime boss. Christopher is not the monster that he is made to be. I liked both of these characters Chris was very protective of his family. Snow was very friendly and helpful. This was my first time reading or listening to this author this was also her first book. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I listened to this book on audio and I really liked both narrator’s. I am looking forward to reading or listening to the next book in this series.
