so this story was a good enough start for a series and I enjoyed it as a good in between releases book and that is how I would recommend it. maybe book two will change things for me but as it stands there are two things I feel hold it back from being a great litrpg book.

the first and addressable one, the litrpg side of things doesn’t really feel like it has any weight on the story. the protagonist jumps dozens of levels in a skill at a time but it doesn’t feel like anything changes and there is no weight given to his choices with the abilities he picks up.

the other issue come from the premise of guy gets OP builder powers during an apocalypse. fundamentally clashing with each other. how can you logically force someone who can snap his fingers and make a self sustaining fortress fit for hundreds worry about the normal dangers of a world ending event. it kills most of the tension for the setting.

again I want to say this is a good buy. the characters have good interactions and these are some interesting twists for litrpg veterans.
