The premise is interesting: The author puts Venom (the Spider-Man villain) into a dungeon world. Unfortunately that’s about as far as he thought things through. A human bonded with a mimic. How did that happen? Don’t know. Why did it happen? Not explained. Has it ever happened before? Maybe.
The plot armor used to shore up the holes in this book is too thick to ignore. And if you don’t believe me and listen to this book, remember me and this comment when the hero gets ambushed. You’ll know when it happens, trust me.
With the plot armor he’s granted, our hero needs to get out of the dungeon and go fight Godzilla.
If you listen to books to have something on while you’re cutting grass or making dinner, it’s OK. If you want a great lit-rpg book, look elsewhere. (Check out Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinneman.)
