- Would you listen to Journey again? Why?
- I probably will.
- What other book might you compare Journey to and why?
- This book, in theme, is similar to other PA books. When dealing with the PA theme, there really isnt a good way to stand out… all the authors have to follow certain parameters. At the beginning, the author gives an introduction on the “why and purpose” of this book. I really enjoyed the fact that there is a female narrator and she is decent too!
- What about Kevin Pierce and Becket Royce ’s performance did you like?
- The performance was solid. I was just stoked to hear a female voice as a main narrator!
- Any additional comments?
- Despite the author’s introduction, this is another book that doesnt necessarily have any great differences from other PA novels…. other than the writing in general – the story is very well written. The book follows two story lines: 1. A group of college students in Maryland who, individually have no broad survival skills, but as a group have the general knowledge and common sense to survive. I did find it rather typical that at least one person in the group had a weapons or military background. The author doesnt use the military background as a center piece in the survival aspect, but towards the end of the book, that character became very prominent. 2. the second story follows the family/home town of one of the college students and how things collapse in a small community or suburb. There are some interesting perspectives from certain characters. I like good PA novels and series. I’m definitely looking forward to book 2. I sincerely hope the author is able to keep both narrators for each book. Some times the narrator sucks on the first try, but in this case, both were a GREAT fit.
