“Making my pitch” is a story of a young lady’s passion of wanting to play baseball, and not softball, which is typically the path a female athlete takes. Borders proved she was good enough to play against the guys, and eventually gained a contract to play in minor league baseball. The crafty southpaw earned the respect of the “she is bringing down baseball” crowd, and played organized baseball for multiple seasons. Border also outlines her struggles dealing with being gay, and finally excepting her orientation despite being born and raised as a Christian. This is a fun odyssey, filled with many fun baseball stories. However, you don’t have to be a baseball fan to enjoy this book!
