Rick Griffin has created a wonderful tale and Piers Ryman’s production of the audiobook was spectacular. The story follows Gert—an alien who looks a bit like a kangaroo—and how forces way beyond his control brought out the hero in him. His boss, Ateri, has decided to take a huge gamble that will either end in freedom from slavery or death for the whole crew of 10,000, and now Gert has no choice but to follow along and try to make the long-shot of a plan work. But it’s not going to be easy. Things will go wrong, people will get hurt—even killed—and the various gals in his life will make everything harder, not easier. This is book one of a trilogy, so you won’t need to have read/listened to anything previously to enjoy the tale, but you will want to read the remainder of the series as it comes out!
