I’m not usually an audiobook fan but I had the time and wanted to try it out. This trilogy was a perfect way to do so, with a great story line and really well done narration.

I am so happy to have come across the incredible world of Aaron Hodges’ Legend of the Gods series. I’d been to the Three Nations fictional world before, having read a half dozen novels are some novellas set here (I highly recommend the precursor series, Sword of Light, by the way), so I was ready for this fantastic example of world-building and expected great story-telling. This trilogy delivered, starting off superbly with Oathbreaker, taking you on a total rollercoaster with book 2 (Shiekd of Winter) and then ending perfectly with Dawn of War, it’s concluding book, which answered all questions. From Merydith’s backstory, how Alana and her brother Braidon, Elana (her grandmother), Merydith, the three Gods the Tsar all fit into an incredible weave, to an amazing ride ending in a grand battle of a conclusion the book gave me everything I wanted. Wonderful characters, both major like Alana, her brother and grandmother, Merydith, Devon and lesser (Helen and her Magickers, and so many more). A fantastic and totally satisfying even if extremely bittersweet conclusion (no I will not give any hints to spoil it) this is totally powerful and satisfying. Well worth the experience, and perfect for an audiobook
