The text can stand on its own without the dramatization of the narrator – chapter 15 was painful to endure; men should not try to sound like women when voice acting. Kevin, just read the text clearly.
1 star performance = “not for me”.
Regarding the story, again, the text could have stood on its own – without the author inserting opinion from time to time.
4 star story = “it’s great”.
This text should be studied, and the facts investigated to validate everything. We have no reason to doubt the author, given that it was published in 1972 – before much of the “plot” unfolded. The “villain” of the story may be a liar or composite of multiple individuals, but undue skepticism for the author, Marie Carre, can be avoided. This book should be widely read by the faithful.
