I’m not generally a fan of this genre, but this book does such a great job building the characters for the series and speaking to things that we see elements of in 2020 and 2021 (though it was written in 2014), that I highly recommend this to anyone who is uncertain about America’s future. It’s a practical book with characters that are similar to people you likely know IRL, and yet there’s enough mystery about what is building that it’s an easy listen. Narrator is a bit slow in his pace, so suggest you run the first half of the book on 1.5X speed and the second half on 1.4X.
