The characters are on the flat side, and every major reveal was telegraphed so far in advance that there were no surprise twists. What was marketed as Comedy (and for some reason has the narrator in stitches during the outtake reel [also, there is a narrator outtake reel]) turned out to be a continuous string of oddball word choices that reminded me of a group of middle school boys discovering innuendo for the first time.

For all of that, the concept is solid, and I enjoyed the story and the more cynical take on superheroes. It’s a fun listen, and I think Hutchison has aspirations of imitating Scott Meyer once he gets his writing feet under him – which is a respectable goal.
