Dungeon Crawler Carl

One random night at two in the morning, every thing changed. Carl just happened to be outside trying to get the cat to come inside when every single thing with a roof was pulled inside the ground. Then, entrances to the dungeon opened up. with nothing but his leather jacket, his cat, and some ill fitting crocs, he heads in to get out of the frigid cold. With that, Carl becomes one of the crawlers in the televised apocalypse.

This might be the most popular litrpg out there right now. I was hesitant to start it to see if it would live up to the hype. I was pleasantly surprised. The book was fantastic! Having said that, this gets seriously dark and disturbing. Carl calls it out for that several times. Fortunately, it’s balanced well with the humor and doesn’t just end up being depressing. Jeff Hays does an amazing job with the narration! It basically felt like Kronk was running the dungeon.
