This is such an entertaining story. It is up there on my favorites along with the Ender’s Game, Harry Potter, Red Rising, and Hunger Games series.
The foreshadowing is a little heavy at the beginning, but it still entices and intrigues. That is my only criticism of the book.
I didn’t enjoy the narrator’s odd inflections. I don’t think he captures to tone of the story very well; however, he does a fantastic job at the voices, and I got used to the odd way he reads the story in between the dialogue.
The cast of the book is well developed, the action well described, and the storyline engaging. I already can’t wait for book 2. The surprise reveals and abrupt ending left me wanting more.
