There is some “almost” swearing and little gore, it seems made for teens to escape into a power fantasy. the hero makes teenager mistakes and expresses himself as if he was 15-16; but he’s supposed to be in his twenties, so that’s a bit weird, but okay. I would say it’s a solid book for younglings, for me(an adult), it’s a bit bland and timid in its decisions.
