I have only read a couple of books from this author and have found my experience to be a little hit or miss. While I didn’t LOVE this book, it was a light hearted, somewhat flighty story that was a pretty quick and easy read/listen.

I am a fan of Joel Leslie as a narrator so that was an automatic plus. This was also the beginning of a new series so there is always the world building that has to occur in order to establish the world.

I thought the concept of the CSG – Community of Species Government – was an interesting concept, but it was extremely superficial in terms of the description of its purpose. It felt more like a place where everyone just gossiped at the office (and boy oh boy did they gossip) and we never really got a feel for what the duties were or why they were important.

I liked Percy and Brandt and especially liked it when Percy’s father got his comeuppance (did I get that word right? Oh well 🙂 )

So, it was an interesting read, but I’m not sure that I will be continuing on with this series.
