This book is nonsensically amazing. I have no idea how he did it, but Rhino nailed everything I can think of, and Jeff Hays outperformed himself to ridiculous levels. The main character? Cheerful, funny, and easy to get behind. The litRPG? An in-depth and solid spin on the classics. The ant-based twist? Explored and expansive. And best of all, the adventure? Absolute amazing. The monsters are interesting, the locations great, the goals clear, the foes mighty, and the victories reasonable. And to top it all off, the narration is easily the best I’ve EVER heard, and that’s coming from someone with over 10k hours of listening time (no, seriously).

I cannot express to you how much you need to read this book. This isn’t some dark or gritty story, not some calculating plot or heart-wrenching epic, but a wonderfully chaotic saga of “Oh heck, oh balls, oh geez, what in Gandalf’s fluffy while eyebrows is that thing, DON’T COME NEAR ME AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA FEEL MY MANDIBLES OF JUSTICE”. While it may be childish in some regards, it is so in a good way and more than mature enough for audiences of all ages to enjoy. There is more than enough plot to always be engaged, and the plots in the background are building up to be both interesting and far reaching.

The main character is both cool and silly, courageous and respectable and so god damn interesting that I couldn’t put it down for a second. The upgrades are fascinating and oh so logical, and I just can’t get enough of our MC’s internal dialog. For the majority of the story, hes the only one we get to hear, and it’s executed perfectly. There seems to often be an assumption that lone characters can’t be interesting, but Rhino is here to prove that wrong.

Seriously, read the book.

TL:DR Gold story, all the way through. This book is 17 hours of joyous bliss.
