HOLY HECK!!! THAT WAS AWESOME!!!

So, I finally took the plunge and signed up for Audible’s 30-day free trial for their Romance Package and decided to make Absolution my first listen. The ladies I blog with rave about Kennedy’s writing and I’m a huge fan of Joel Leslie’s narrative performances, so I queued up Absolution without really reading the book’s blurb. Because of that, I had no idea of what to expect and when the third male character’s point of view was introduced, I had to pause the book and go read the blurb to figure out who was whose love interest. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I realized that it was a ménage romance AND a romantic suspense… HEAVEN! So I resumed playing and found myself enthralled by the world Kennedy has created for these three damaged men.

Because of the secrets, lies, deceit, and betrayals, I really don’t want to talk about the specifics of the story as I don’t want to ruin it for potential readers. I will say that the way the course of the men’s lives changed during their story was heartbreaking and heartwarming. The things they endured in their pasts, what they go through once their lives intersect, and how they find what they need from the other two men in their trio makes one hope for the future they’ve earned.

As always, Joel Leslie never fails to impress me with his narrative talents. His performance kept me on the edge on my seat, biting my nails and grabbing the tissues, all while I waited to see what happened next. The level of emotion that Leslie brings to the characters is indescribable – the pain, the hope, the love, it’s all there.

Now I’m off to listen to Salvation.

NOTE: I listened to this title via Audible’s Romance Package.

2nd NOTE: I removed the book from my library BEFORE posting my review, not realizing that I couldn’t review it if it wasn’t in my library. So, I had to re-borrow it in order to leave a review, which is why it’s dated after the reviews for books 2 & 3.
