This book has been building to this epic conclusion since book one ! We first meet The Spy secretly in book one but aren’t introduced to them until book three . With The Spy being the 3rd POV in book three, we start getting some information but are only left with more questions by the end . FINALLY in this book everything is answered and we really start to understand how all the missing puzzle pieces fit .
The action, excitement, twists, turns + secrets throughout this book are explosive . Every chapter there is a new bomb dropped or a connecting piece of information is given that ties everything together seamlessly . I loved following all the clues and figuring out exactly who The Spy was + what their overall mission was while at Kingmaker’s . With there being so much action .. I do wish there was a few more chapters of spice and romance building between the two . The Spy + Nix’s relationship takes a slight backseat over the mission . Without the mission being completed they can never be together, but sometimes their romance seemed rushed because of all the action happening around them .
With that being said this book is still fantastic and a 5/5 star read for me ! There is so much world building, action packed story lines, cross-connections from other works of Sophie’s that fit flawlessly into this story, every single question I had was answered in depth + I was still left with wanting more . The epilogue was such an added treat because Sophie has tied up The Kingmaker’s series most beloved characters with a perfect blood mafia red bow !
This series has been added to my top 5 favorite mafia series of all time and I am already looking forward to the next time I read this series again !
