I wanted to like it, but barely forced myself to finish. I was excited to discover a new book in this genre with so many positive reviews (and the parallel series from Shera’s point of view was intriguing), but for me the story fell far below the mark. At the75% mark I was ready to just give in & stop reading – the story just didn’t pull me in, the characters didn’t interest me, and I wasn’t invested in the outcome. Really disappointed because I had really high hopes to several great reads out of the two series.
