I always get an extra kick in my step when I listen to an audiobook performed by the very talented Joel Leslie. Cat Sebastian’s return to 1948 England to revisit the romance between country doctor James Page and ex-spy Leo Sommers was the perfect collaboration between Sebastian and Leslie.
They inadvertently stumble upon a decades-old mystery, the disappearance of one of James’s relatives at a time when he was only ten. Now, they race against time to solve the mystery, the solution of which will bring wealth from his deceased uncle’s challenge posed in his will.
It’s an interesting and intriguing mystery, but more than that, it’s a sweet old-fashioned romance that brings James and Leo closer to their own “happily ever after” as Leo uncovers clues and questions his continued work in espionage.
