God bless Miss Kingsley’s hands for creating such vampiric masterpiece! The novel capture me since the first time Vlad spoke. I loved the banter and friendly, yet firm disposition he showed his subordinates and the seductive beast he transformed into when dealing with Maxine. Vlad is a villain in every aspect, ruthless and unforgiving when need be but capable of showing good traits like the desire to protect what he loves. He considers himself a monster and isn’t ashamed of it, just like any vampire king should be. Be prepare because this is an enemies to lovers that would melt you like butter.

I laughed with Walter and the Frenchman, cry when Vlad exposed his darker desires to Maxine, and got enraged at the blindness of a man who supposedly fights to protect humanity. Meaning the book has my LAC (Laugh-Angry-Cry) badge and will be counted among my best reads of the year for bringing out all these feelings in me.

Also worthy of mention are the sex scenes. Not only are they written in a way that will make squirm but the narrator makes Vlad’s voice so wonderfully seductive that you melt and swoon for the vampire king.

Heart of Dracula far surpassed my expectations. Can’t wait to get and read the next one in this bilogy.
