I feel terrible that I didn’t write a review for this the moment I finished the book. I just hurried and bought the next one so I could know what happens next. I guess that in itself lets you know how I feel. I’m on Book 8 and just coming up for air. This series helped me do some awful cleaning and organizing in my shed. I’ll be forever grateful.
Go into this expecting a long relationship. This book is all about learning the world, magic system, and character introductions. It sets up the need for the “journey.” If you need quick-n-dirty, I wouldn’t suggest this series. If you want another world to live in for a few weeks/months, then you found your next series.
Though the majority of the story is fantasty based, there are snippets of sci-fi themes embedded. In the audio version, it’s easy to follow because the voices change. However, it may not be as easy with POV changes reading the text. But remember, that’s maybe because I didn’t read the text version.
Narration by Travis Baldree was GREAT! Females sounded like females and monsters sounded like monsters. ❤️
