I enjoyed seeing a post-apocalyptic story where it wasn’t over the top with gore and language and the violence. The main character, Battle, is caught between being sacrificial or selfish and recognizes that there’s costs both ways. My complaint would be that the book was too short and ended abruptly. It is like the author or the publisher needed a series and so they chopped the book in a half or thirds.
