MC has an Idiot Ball fused to him.

I’m currently halfway through chapter 10, so not even a third of the way through the story. And I’m fed up with how the MC, who’s been made out to be a top-tier gamer, is such an IDIOT. This is the second battle he’s just STOOD THERE and taken damage without fighting back with his magic or a weapon, and at least FOUR times now the author seems to forget the MC read something in a system window and “discovers” some piece of info for the second time, too late to account for or plan around it. It’s frustrating.

This last time, he loots a grenade from a mob. On inspecting the loot, the system window says it does 10 damage every second for 10 seconds (may have been minutes, not important). A while later, he uses the grenade, and curses that it only deals 10 damage. He’s then surprised when he gets the next notification of damage, and “didn’t know it did that”. Fucking what!? Are the system messages supposed to be for us, the readers, only or something? And even if they are, this top-tier guildmaster doesn’t know or infer that a grenade that spills liquid fire everywhere does DOT??

I’m gonna take a day to cool off and return to this story. Hopefully it gets better, but I doubt it’ll get more than 3 stars.
