I listened to this book for Jeffery’s wonderful reading performance. The story was another matter. It felt like a cheap ripoff of Starship troopers. Bugs everywhere and our valiant group trying not to get killed. Except I didn’t care about them. Nothing they were saying or doing left me feeling anything for them. Even the name of the bugs left me wanting to stop. “Scum”. Even the name stunk. If humanity is so scared of them why don’t they have a better name. They could have been “Skulls” or “Titans”. Those names are worthy of fear. An enemy that deadly deserves a better name. Our “Hero” if you can call him that seems determined to have sex with every female around him no matter the consequences.
