I’ve been getting into this genre recently and love it. I have read the Dungeon Born series, as well as the Unbound Deathlord series and this one is the best.
Slower development, but it is totally worth it. You get syper invested in Oren, and truly want him to succeed. By the end, revenge is secondary to building his new civilization, but the new plot line strengthens the overall story and gives a possible path to exacting his revenge.
This book is also a different take, being that, as a weak monster, typical character progression is not the same, and his wits and ingenuity are his strongest points.
