Any additional comments?
This is a second chance love story, which I adore reading second chance, so I loved that aspect, but I did want more character development and romantic development between the characters. The romance is sweet, the characters are likable, and I liked the small town setting. Violet has returned home after some surprising information comes out about the guy she’s been “dating”, so she ends up going back to her small hometown to get her head back on straight. When she arrives home, she runs into her high school boyfriend, Devon, they both are excited to see the other, but some past and present hurts may get in the way of them starting a new relationship. These 2 loved each other deeply when they were younger, and I enjoyed the connection between the two. Devon is such a sweetie! I was so sad for him! Some devious deeds caused problems for Devon and Violet in the past and present, so these two need to work through some painful situations if they are going to try to be in a relationship again, which I enjoyed reading how that would play out, and I would’ve actually have loved for there to be more angst with this situation, but this book is fairly short, so it didn’t quite go into that enough. I also would’ve liked for there to be a bit more in the ending. Overall, this book is an interesting read, and I’d recommend it! I listened to the audio version of this story, and the narrator did a great job! Fun little accent!
