This is definitely a series that needs to be listened to in order, this book won’t make sense without reading book one first.
I love it when the second book in a series isn’t a ‘filler’ book, and this one definitely isn’t. I enjoyed this book more than the first book.
I did not like the Stafford in this book however, he needed a good kick up the arse for most of the book.
Poor Jan’s life goes from worse to weirder in a cycle throughout the book and Stafford makes it so much harder than it needed to be.
Even for a fantasy book this book is very fantastical. I was very impressed with the world building and the character development. I can’t wait for book three.
The narration is excellent, the character voices are distinct and there’s lots of characters and the overall delivery did a fabulous job of conveying emotion and tension.
