The Desert trilogy takes place in the artificial world of Puatera Online. Our protagonist, however, is what we would call a Non-Player Character (NPC) – i.e, not a flesh & blood human that logged into the game. She has her own personality though, and more characteristics than the average NPC.
To summarize the story, there’s a lot of driving, interrupted by short bursts of panic and destruction, then resumes driving shortly afterwards. I enjoyed it.
