Ash-The Alt Apocalypse, Book 1 by Tom Abrahams and Narrated by Kevin Pierce

The Author Tom Abrahams is taking the Post Apocalyptic Genre and doing something unique with this story and series. Mr. Abrahams states, “Each book in the series will explore survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist and no cliff-hangers. This series, which can be read in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story.” As a listener this a fantastic approach to the genre. The listener gets one-off stories with a resolution from a great author and narrator.

The story is set in southern California at the start of a nuclear event. You have 4 college kids, a secret society type of group, an ex-con, and a cook. The struggle to survive in the overpowering Ash of the title is really visually horrifying as the events unfold. This is a great cast of characters created by the author and the fact they will get dropped into the pot to face a whole new apocalypse again makes them even more interesting. The story holds the listener’s attention throughout the entire production. The narration provided by Kevin Pierce is once again outstanding. No one else narrates the end of the world like Mr. Pierce.
