The box consists of five rather short romantic comedies which will give you quite a laugh:)

I liked all five stories in general, though of course some more than others. I think my favourite is the second one, “Man Candy”, with Raine and Dirk as protagonists – who wouldn’t like to have a god-like movie star fall in love with her and fight a real bear in her defence? 🙂 But all the stories have their charm, all will bring a smile to your lips and you will definitely want to listen on to find out what happens to the girls and their unexpected boyfriends. And I don’t even care too much that the stories seem rather unrealistic, with more than one unbelievable situation in stock – romantic comedies are not supposed to be real, right?

What did I especially like about the books? The fact that the stories kind of emerge one from the other – we meet the main female character of the next book as one of the minor characters of the previous one. It’s a nice trick on the part of Ms Sax as we want to know what she has in store for those crazy females… So what is it that I didn’t like so much? Well, I think sex scenes are a bit too strong for romantic comedies… But maybe it’s just because I listened to the books, not read them. It happens quite often that what doesn’t bother me on paper irritates and bothers me a lot when spoken out loud… Other than that, the books are a relaxing, fun listen.

The interpretation of the box set by Ms Hickman is great. She has a nice voice and does equally well both female and male parts. She’s also very good at conveying emotions, which is quite important when narrating a romance:) Generally, her narration adds a nice touch of warmth to the already likeable, entertaining stories.
