I enjoyed this listen. It didn’t wow me but it was definitely an interesting tale. What you’ll want to keep in mind is that this isn’t a story about the how or the why of the apocalypse but a story of a couple small groups of people and how they react and try to survive in reaction to the nuclear attacks. My biggest gripe is that I just didn’t feel too attached to some of the characters and when certain events occur it didn’t really feel like there was a major impact. With that said, I wasn’t bored with this listen and overall it was enjoyable!
Narration by Kevin Pierce was as expected if you’ve listened to any of his other works; a pleasant listen as usual!
Overall, this book is worth a listen if you’re interested in survival stories. I like the premise of having the same cast revisit different scenarios and it will be interesting to see how it turns out.
