got the book as it was long as hell and had a spare credit. and it was worth it!!

the stories are original enough, though holds enough of a firefly with magic to seem familear. the characters are entertaining, though not always likeable or well rounded. After a while you find yourself wishing for someone new, but new characters are along only for a short while, or varient of another character. all in all, not bad.

not that i dont have gripes. the magic vs tech trope rears its ugly head with the standard of “magic is superior” wearing thin really fast, while not really making any sense. characters actions and motivations dont always match up, amd others they are just so annoying you might end up wishing their head gets crushed in a doorway. esper gets REALLY old really fast.

my suggestion is to not try and power thru the series, break it up into stories or books, just going straight thru seems to burn out quick, or at least it has me. take your time and switch to another series or something between books.
