The synopsis of this book doesn’t do it justice. I’d previously thought about getting it, but put it off until a few people highly recommended it to me. While it’s not a post-Apocalyptic book, it is about a man who is a prepper, preparing for survival, as societal unrest has been increasing. Rick is a writer and a bit of a loner, preferring his own company until he meets someone he can be himself around, who accepts his eccentricities. One Man’s Opus is a tale about this couple, and her dog, Opus. While entertaining with bits of romance, drama and action, Boyd Craven also teaches some survival information throughout. It is a thought-provoking book and a highly enjoyable read.

Keven Pierce is one of my favorite narrators. He puts emotion and his own voice into the story. I love listening to him narrate and he keeps my attention. Excellent performance.
